Did you know? Corrupted drivers are the main cause of Windows®
not shutting down or restarting properly. A malfunctioning anti-virus
program is another cause.
When the Turn off or Restart feature stops working
properly, simultaneously press and release the'Ctrl+Alt+Del'
keys to display the 'Windows Task Manager'. Click the 'Applications'
tab to see if a program is not responding. If this is the
case, click on the program and then click 'End Task' at the
bottom of the window. Repeat these steps for any other programs
listed as not responding.
If Windows® is still unable to shut down properly after ending
the tasks, your next step would be to force Windows® to shutdown.
If pressing 'Ctrl+Alt+Del' does not display
the 'Windows Task Manager', your last choice would be to
hold the power button in for about 7 seconds. This would force the
computer to turn off improperly.
Follow the steps below to force Windows® to shutdown.
