Did you know? Windows reserves 10% of hard disk space for
the Recycle Bin.
If you have a large hard drive, a considerable amount of hard disk
space will be reserved. For instance, on a 250 GB hard drive, 25
GB (25,600 MB) of disk space is reserved. That's a massive
amount of space that can be used more efficiently for your programs
and data storage needs. Consider this: A music CD consists of approximately
700 MB, so for the reserved 25,600 MB, you could store about 36
Music CDs. But remember, do not reduce
the reserved disk space to zero, because Windows
needs some space to restore files you accidentally delete.
Follow the steps below to reduce the amount of space reserved by
the Recycle Bin.
