How to Reduce
the Amount of Space Reserved by System Restore
By default, Windows reserves 12% of disk space for System
Restore. On a 40 GB hard drive, that's a whopping 4,800
MB! On a 60 GB hard drive, that's 7,200 MB! Although
the more space you reserve, the more Restore Points you can
create, 1,024 MB (1 GB = 1,024 MB) is sufficient space for
System Restore to create several Restore Points.
