All EasyLI Done! Series Tutorials are designed to accomplish
specific tasks on a step-by-step basis!
From connecting
two computers together to share files using a crossover cable
to setting up a secured
wireless network connection, these online tutorials are extremely
easy to follow. Although all tutorials were put together with the
novice user (beginner) in mind, advanced users will find a few tricks
to put to use also, such as 'How
to Force Windows to Shutdown' when it just won't shutdown normally.
Before downloading or using any content or
software on this site, please read the End User License Agreement
(EULA).
Connect your computers together to backup or share your files between them. It's easy, it's fast, and best of all, it's guaranteed to work or your money is refunded back to you! No corporate red-tape, no if, ands or buts. If the tutorial does not work to your satisfaction, just forward me a copy of your PayPal receipt, and within a day or two your refund will be issued. Your total satisfaction is what counts to me! So, go ahead and try the tutorial risk-free.
Did you know? Firewalls can block you from accessing your own shared
folders and files!
Firewalls are great, but if not properly configured, they can cause
many problems on a network. For instance, programs and games that
used to work fine begin to start crashing (freezing) the computer,
computers start disappearing from the network, and shared folders/files
can no longer be accessed ('Access denied',. '... is not
accessible', and 'You might not have permission...',
'Contact the administrator...', printing over the network
stops working, etc.). Properly configure your firewall to avoid
these problems.
If you are experiencing problems after installing the Norton
Internet Security Personal Firewall, walkthrough the tutorial
below and learn how to configure the firewall so that it does not
cause any further problems on your computer or network of computers.
Follow the steps below to configure the Norton Internet Security
Personal Firewall.

|
Step
13: With the left mouse button, double-click on the applicable
items to change them from 'Block'
to 'Permit' and click the 'OK'
button on the pop-up screen. Repeat this step until all applicable
items are permitted firewall access.
- Block access to secure sites: Self-explanatory.
- Default Block Inbound and Outbound ICMP: Does not allow
the ping command to function properly (ping request timed out).
- Block Windows File Sharing: Does not allow access to
shared files. Some typical messages that appear when trying to
access shares are 'Access denied',
'...is not accessible...',
'you do not have permission...',
'contact the administrator for your network...'
etc.
Note: If you still have problems
after correcting these settings, then scroll through the list to
find other important items that may be blocked and correct them
by following step 13.
|
Step
14: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button. |
Step
15: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button. |
Step

to close Norton Internet Security. |
Step

Note:
If you are still having problems accessing your shares or secure web
sites, then turn the firewall
off to test whether is it the cause of the problem.
Make sure the firewall(s) on the other computer(s)
are also properly configured.
Don't forget to turn the firewall
back on after troubleshooting the problem. |
| |
|
Special note: If you are still
having problems accessing your shared folders / files, and your
firewall is off, then walkthough the tutorial
below that applies to your setup (A nominal risk-free
charge of $1.00 per fee-based tutorial is required to view the complete
tutorial.):
