How to Rename

Protect the Administrator account in Microsoft® Windows®
XP Home Edition from malicious users by simply renaming it!
Here's how to rename the Administrator account in Microsoft®
Windows® XP Home Edition:

Step 1: Click on the 'Start' button with the left
mouse button.
|
|
Step 2: Click on 'Run...' with the left mouse button.
|
|
Step 3: Type control userpasswords2 in the text box
next to 'Open'.
|
|
Step 4: Click on 'OK' with the left mouse button.
|
|
Step 5: Click on 'Administrator' with the left mouse
button.
|
|
Step 6: Click on 'Properties' with the left mouse
button.
|
|
Step 7: Type a new name for the Administrator account, in
the User name box.
Do not change the Full name! Change ONLY
the User name or you might not be able to get back into Windows®
after you have restarted or turned the computer off, which would
mean you would probably have to reinstall Windows®.

Step 8: Click on 'OK' with the left mouse button,
to close the 'Administrator Properties' dialog box.

|
Step 9: Click on 'OK' with the left mouse button
again, to close the 'User Accounts' dialog box.
The Administrator account name has now been changed.
