Did you know? Viruses and some legitimate programs can cause damage
to, or disable the Windows System Restore feature.
If the System Restore feature stops functioning properly,
you should manually turn

How
to Create a System Restore Point
Turning on System Restore
and creating a new Restore
Point can be a lifesaver in many situations. For example,
if you install a program or a driver that causes problems, and uninstalling
it does not resolve the problems, you can use System Restore
to restore your system to the way it was before you installed the
program or driver that caused the problems. Also, if your system
becomes slow or unstable for no apparent reason, using System
Restore, you may be able to quickly resolve the problem.
Here's how to create a System Restore Point:
| |
Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start'
button.
Step 2: With the mouse cursor (arrow), point to 'All
Programs'.
Step 3: With the mouse cursor (arrow), point to 'Accessories'.
Step 4: With the mouse cursor (arrow), point to 'System
Tools'.
Step 5: With the left mouse button, click on 'System
Restore'.
'Welcome to System Restore' appears.
Step 6: On the right-hand side, select 'Create a restore
point', by clicking on the circle with the left mouse button
(A green dot will appear in the circle, indicating it has been selected.).
Step 7: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Next'
button.
Step 8: Type a description for the Restore Point,
for example: Everything is working perfectly (This is the
text you would see if you were to use System Restore to restore
your system back to an earlier time.).
Step 9: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Create'
button.
Step 10: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Close'
button.
A Restore Point has now been created.
