it off and then turn it back
on to restore its functionality.

How
to Turn On System Restore
Turning on System Restore
and creating a new Restore
Point can be a lifesaver in many situations. For example,
if you install a program or a driver that causes problems, and uninstalling
it does not resolve the problems, you can use System Restore
to restore your system to the way it was before you installed the
program or driver that caused the problems. Also, if your system
becomes slow or unstable for no apparent reason, using System
Restore, you may be able to quickly resolve the problem.
Here's how to turn on System Restore and create a Restore Point:

Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start'
button.

Step 2: With the right mouse
button, click on 'My Computer'.
|
|
Step 3: With the left mouse button, click on 'Properties'.
|
|
Step 4: With the left mouse button, click on the 'System
Restore' tab (top left tab).
|
|
Step 5: With the left mouse button, click on the checkbox
next to 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' to remove
the checkmark from the box.

Step 6: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Apply'
button.
|
|
The 'Status' changes to 'Monitoring'.
|
|
Step 7: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK'
button.
|
|
System Restore is now turned on.
