How to Find
Out Which Version of Microsoft® Windows® You Are Using
At times, you will need to know which version of Microsoft®
Windows® you are using. For example, some software will only
work with certain versions of Windows®. So, before purchasing
software for your computer, make sure it is compatible with your
Windows® version.
Here's how to find out which version of Microsoft® Windows®
you are using:

Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start'
button.

Step 2: With the right mouse
button, click on 'My Computer'.
|
|
Step 3: With the left mouse button, click on 'Properties'.
|
|
Step 4: The Windows® version is displayed on the 'General'
tab.

|
Step 5: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK'
button.

Alternatively, the Windows® version can be displayed by performing
the following steps:
Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start'
button.

Step 2: With the left mouse button, click on 'Run...'
button.
|
|
Step 3 : Type winver in the textbox.
|
|
Step 4: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK'
button.
|
|
Step 5: The Windows® version is displayed at the top.

Step 6: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK'
button.
Now, the way Techies do it!
Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start'
button.
Step 2: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Run...'
button.
Step 3: Type msinfo32 in the textbox.
Step 4: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK'
button.
Step 5: The Windows® version is displayed at the top,
followed by other vital system info.
Step 6: With the left mouse button, click on the
(close) button.
You now know three ways to find your Windows® version.
